Judy Sivertson worked at the Cook County Sheriff's Office for 26 years. She recently retired after working in a variety of roles at the law enforcement center.

Local youth swim team to host meet in Grand Marais

As January begins to wind down, the Cook County YMCA Northerns Swim Team is preparing for sections and the state competition.


 

Alpine girls take first at conference meet

The Cook County Vikings Alpine team sponsored a conference meet at Lutsen Mountains on January 11. The Cook County girls team skiied into first place. 


 

Bill Blackwell, Jr. recognized for work at Bemidji State

A Bemidji State University administrator, and former Grand Portage resident, Bill Blackwell Jr., was one of 17 Minnesotans honored at the Governor’s Martin Luther King Day celebration in St.
