The “Local Food on the North Shore of Lake Superior” project wishes to increase awareness and understanding of food sustainability in general, and specifically of local resources, efforts, and insights.  Local food integrates production, processing, distribution and consumption on a small scale, creating sustainable local economies and a strong connection between garden and table.  There are many worthwhile local efforts taking place to address the issue of sustainable agriculture and food systems along the North Shore of Lake Superior. These efforts have the potential to increase public engagement, foster community action, and prompt positive change. WTIP Community Radio, with funding from the University of Minnesota, will highlight many of these efforts thru audio features, photos and video production.
