Helping anxious pets adjust as we go back to work away from home
-We all know our dogs and cats have been pretty happy to have us at home during this last year. And they might feel anxious as their people go back to work away from home. Julie was joined by Dana Emerson, a certified animal trainer at the Veterinary Medical Center at the University of Minnesota. Dana shared ideas on making the transition for our pets as smooth and happy as possible.

-A new exhibit has opened at the Minnesota History Center about Minnesota author Sinclair Lewis—the first American to win the Nobel prize in literature, and whose work is still very relevant today. New research details the many benefits of clean water
-We all want our local waters to be clean for drinking, recreation, and so on, but in the past, it was often thought that the costs to protect that water exceeded the benefits. Now a new study shows that by considering global benefits, especially of slowing climate change, protecting local waters saves a LOT of money. Brian spoke with University of Minnesota Sea Grant Director John Downing, lead author of the recent paper on this topic, to learn more.

-Stephanie Hemphill is a freelance journalist and co-editor of Agate Magazine, an online magazine about nature, science, and conservation in Minnesota and the surrounding Great Lakes Region.
