Beatrice Ojakangas is the author of 31 cookbooks, and has been a food writer and columnist for many publications including Bon Appetit, Gourmet, and the Minneapolis Star Tribune.   She joined The Roadhouse to talk about her latest cookbook, "Breakfast with Beatrice." 

How can we manage stress and enjoy the present moment more of the time?  One way is using mindfulness-based stress reduction.  Dr. Douglas Kennedy, assistant professor at the Center for Spirituality and Healing at the University of Minnesota, joined The Roadhouse and spoke with Dave about this method for handling stress.  

Robert Hunter is an American singer-songwriter, poet, and author.  He recently stopped by The Roadhouse to chat with hosts Dave and Jay about his journey getting to where he is now with multiple albums released and a recently published novel, Relapse.  More information about Hunter can be found here.

It's the time of year when ticks have returned.  Reports show that there's more possibility than ever of getting sick from tick bites.  Jonathan Oliver, assistant professor at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, stopped by The Roadhouse and spoke with Dave about why tick-borne diseases are on the rise, and what we can do to protect ourselves.

Author Cary Griffith stopped by The Roadhouse and spoke with WTIP's Jay Andersen about his recently published book Gunflint Burning.  The book is a comprehensive account of the dramatic events surrounding the Ham Lake fire of 2007.  Griffith talks about where he got the inspiration to write this book, as well as the writing process.  

Bob King, author of the Astro Bob blog in the Duluth News-Tribune, has written a new book,  "Wonders of the Night Sky You Must See Before You Die: The Guide to Extraordinary Curiosities of Our Universe". He recently joined The Roadhouse and spoke with Jay about his new book and some of the wonders of the night sky.

Chris Gillis recently stopped by The Roadhouse and brought his keyboard into Studio A to perform a few songs.  Gillis also chatted with hosts Jay and Dave about what he's been up to recently and some of his upcoming gigs.

MN Sea Grant has been holding a series of focus group meetings to support the development of a green infrastructure guide to stormwater management for the Lake Superior coastal zone.  The meetings have been held all along the North Shore, including one in Grand Marais on May 14.  Tom Beery of MN Sea Grant was on The Roadhouse talking about these meetings, as well as the importance of green infrastructure.
