-Hovland adventurer Rob Torkildson has had many amazing adventures and experiences, and is about to set off on another one…traveling the world on a Viking ship. It’s called the Midgard Expedition, and Rob joined Dave on The Roadhouse to tell us more about it.

Minnesota Book Award authors to present in Grand Marais
-The Moving Words series, a tour of Minnesota Book Award winning authors, is coming to Grand Marais next weekend, Sept. 14.
Featured authors include Cary Griffith, Ed Bok Lee, Wendy Webb, and Mary Wingerd.
The Friends of the St. Paul Public Library sponsors the Minnesota Book Awards and hosts many other programs as well.
Alayne Hopkins, assistant director of programs and services at the Friends of the St. Paul Public Library joined Dave on The Roadhouse to tell us more.
The Federales bring country music to The Roadhouse
-The Federales are a country-rock band from Minneapolis. While in Grand Marais for a weekend full of shows at the Gunflint Tavern, the group joined Annie and Julie to make their Roadhouse debut.

Using acupressure as a way to relieve lower back pain
-A recent study finds that acupressure can improve chronic pain symptoms in the lower back. Dr. Suzanna Zick joined Annie on The Roadhouse to tell us more about the traditional Chinese medicine technique. Dr. Zick is the co-director for the integrative family medicine program at the University of Michigan.
Dark Sky efforts underway at Voyageurs National Park
-Northeastern Minnesota is one of the darkest places in the world, making it great for nighttime sky viewing. Voyageurs National Park is applying for certification from the International Dark Sky Association. Ashley Wilson, dark sky intern at the park joined Julie on The Roadhouse to tell us more about dark skies and the certification process.
The Dang Ol' Tri'ole perform on The Roadhouse
-The Dang Ol’ Tri’ole is a 5 person bohemian folk group from the Twin Cities. They joined Dave and Brian on The Roadhouse to perform some of their original songs for us.
The Dang Ol' Tri'ole is Rob Higgins: Bass/Vocals, Richard Yaegar: Trumpet/Vocals, Michael Higgins: Guitar/Vocals, Wesley Full: Cajon/Congas, and Dan Yaeger: Aux Percussion.

DNR seeking more seed collectors for tree nurseries
-The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is in need of more people to collect seeds for their tree nurseries. Kristina Somes, Minnesota DNR nursery supervisor joins Brian on The Roadhouse to tell us more.

-The Thunderheads returned to The Roadhouse to play some original and some cover tunes. They also chatted with Dave and Brian about the latest endeavors the band has taken on.
