Jazz trumpeter Willie Waldman rocks The Roadhouse

Willie Waldman brought a few friends, Clint Wagner on guitar and Tofte-ite Bill Hansen on dobro, to our Wooden Boat Show broadcast to play great jazz and spin a few yarns. Willie and Clint were just back from a week-long canoe trip in the Boundary Waters. You can learn more about Willie and his music here.

Maria Nickolay brings original music, gorgeous voice to Studio A

Local singer-songwriter Maria Nickolay stopped by Studio A June 12 to share original music, as well as stories about past and upcoming mission trips to Ireland and other locales.

Blues legend Guy Davis in Studio A

Throughout his career, Guy Davis has dedicated himself to reviving the traditions of acoustic blues and bringing them to as many ears as possible. He was in Grand Marais June 5 & 6 to perform at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts, as well as conduct a special program for kids at the Grand Marais Public Library. We were lucky enough to welcome him to the station, where he played several songs and WTIP blues host Carl Solander chatted with him.

Chris Gillis, Gordon Thorne & Randy Sabien live in Studio A

Memorial Day weekend offered several opportunities to hear Chris Gillis (keyboard), Gordon Thorne (guitar) and Randy Sabien (fiddle) play around Cook County. They stopped by The Roadhouse Friday night for a preview with chat, laugh, and great, happy music.

Twin Cities band Ginstrings brings great bluegrass to Studio A

Michael Monroe's new album pays homage to folk heroes of the 1960s

Michael Monroe has just released his 12th album, "Folk Legends," a tribute to the heroes of folk who inspired him to make music. He stopped by Studio A Mar. 20 to chat with Bob about it and play a few cuts off the CD. A CD release party is scheduled at the Chanhassen Fireside Theater April 10 & 11. Briand Morrison makes music to accompany father George Morrison's art

Dave TerSteeg & Ann Possis welcomed local jazz guitarist and composer Briand Morrison to Studio A March 13. He's working on a new project called "Briand Morrison Presents Musical Impressions, The Art of George Morrison," in which he composes and performs music to accompany a series of slides of his father's work.
