Nashville singer-songwriter Jerry Vandiver drops by The Roadhouse

Grammy Award-winning songwriter Jerry Vandiver stopped by The Roadhouse Aug. 8 with his guitar to chat and play a few tunes, including what he calls paddling music. His new CD, "Every Scratch Tells a Story," features one he wrote about our town, "In Grand Marais." He was in the area for his 20th straight annual Boundary Waters canoe trip. Dick & Ann welcomed the band Floydian Slip (Scott McCafferty, bass; Olaf Kirsten, guitar; Andy Noyes, guitar; and Jeff Kriner, drums)  to Studio A Aug. 1 for fun conversation and great original music & covers. Annie Mack's powerful voice fills Studio A

Buck and Dick welcomed Annie Mack to The Roadhouse July 4. Her music mixes gospel, blues, roots, country and soul to tell rich stories. Her husband Paul O'Sullivan accompanied her on guitar. Annie performed the next evening with her entire band at the ACA in Grand Marais. You can learn more about her music here.

Bluesman Bob Bingham releases new CD, "New Ground"

Local bluesman Bob Bingham joined Buck & Dick in Studio A June 13 to celebrate 50 years in the music business as well as the release of his fifth self-produced album, "New Ground." Bob was one of the founding members of the now-legendary Lamont Cranston Band. Fun stories abound in this interview, which also includes three cuts from Bob's new CD.

Buck & Dick welcomed singer/guitarist Jim McGowan to Studio A June 6. Jim was in town to perform at Cascade Lodge Pub the next evening. They talked about music as well as Jim's new job as executive director of the MN Alliance of YMCAs, and Jim played some great tunes.
