WTIP regularly hosts live in-studio music. We feature local musicians, groups and bands as well as musicians and bands visiting the area.
Musician Michele Miller flies solo on The Roadhouse
-Hovland musician Michele Miller brought her guitar and lovely voice to Studio A Jan. 29. She played several songs, both covers and originals, and chatted with Dick and Dave.
Plucked Up String Band brings original sound to Studio A
-The Plucked Up String Band (Amanda Hand, guitar; Bill Hansen, dobro; Matt Nesheim, banjo; Elliot Noyce, mandolin; Will Moore, upright bass; Kieran Scannell, drums) joined Dick and Dave Jan. 8 for delightful, original music and fun chat. South Shore jam band Floydian Slip plays The Roadhouse
-South Shore jam band Floydian Slip was in town New Year's weekend to play the Tavern. They joined Dave & Buck in studio for some great music. You can learn more about the band here.
Reina del Cid visits The Roadhouse
-Twin Cities musicians Reina del Cid and Toni Lindgren were in town recently for a gig--we were fortunate enough to have them stop by Studio A. Listen to their gorgeous, original music--and you can learn and listen more here.
Adam & Tim bring great bluegrass to Studio A
-Adam (Stariha) & Tim (Tucker), also of the bluegrass group Black River Revue from Duluth/Superior, stopped by The Roadhouse Dec. 11 to chat and play a few high-energy tunes. You can hear and learn more here.
Guitarist Fred Anderson makes Roadhouse debut
-Fred Anderson, a local musician, joined Dave and Dick recently to chat and play gorgeous guitar music, including a few originals. We hope to have him back soon!
Roxann Berglund & Briand Morrison play The Roadhouse
-Briand Morrison (guitar) & Roxann Berglund (keyboard, vocals) took time from a gig at Voyageur Brewing to visit with Dave and play some beautiful music. They're performing around the county in the next few weeks--see WTIP's music calendar for details. And on Jan. 30, Briand will join up with gypsy jazz musician Sam Miltich at Beaner's in Duluth. Maria Nickolay plays The Roadhouse
-Maria Nickolay of Hovland stopped by Studio A Oct. 30 with her guitar and gorgeous voice. She played several original tunes and talked about the album she's currently working on.
Pete K rocks the Roadhouse
-Local blues guitarist Pete Kavanaugh stopped by Studio A Oct. 16 on his way to a gig at Cascade. You can hear and learn more here.
Heck Yeah Holler String Band makes radio debut
-The Heck Yeah Holler String Band (Amymarie Schmidt, Andy Schmidt, Tim Dennison, Pat Flack & Bob LaMettry) made its radio debut (minus Bob) on The Roadhouse Sept. 11, the evening before kicking off the eighth annual Radio Waves Music Festival Saturday morning.
