Musical duo Gene LaFond & Amy Grillo make Roadhouse debut

Gene LaFond & Amy Grillo have been writing and performing together since 2012. They made their way up the shore recently to join Dick and Dave for their first Roadhouse appearance. Listen for both originals and covers, as well as beautiful harmonies. You can learn more about them here

Plucked Up String Band revisits Studio A

Floydian Slip returns to The Roadhouse

South Shore jam band Floydian Slip stopped by Studio A on their way to a gig in Grand Marais. Floydian Slip is Andy Noyes, guitar & vocals; Olaf Kirsten, guitar & vocals; Jeff Kriner, percussion; and Scott McCafferty, bass & vocals. You can learn more about the band and their schedule here

Guitarist Jim Hurst stops by Studio A before Bluegrass Masters Weekend at Lutsen Resort

Jim Hurst is a master of bluegrass guitar, and an experienced instructor and session musician as well. He was in town for the 26th annual Bluegrass Masters Weekend at Lutsen Resort, put on by the North Shore Music Association. Pete K Group rocks The Roadhouse

Pete Kavanaugh and his Minneapolis band, The Pete K Group, (Pete on guitar & vocals, Eric Meyer on bass, and Mike Dubois on drums) stopped by Studio A on their way to a gig at Grandma Rays in Grand Marais. Ginstrings bring great bluegrass to Studio A

Sky Blue Jazz Ensemble concert to feature local performers, original music

The Sky Blue Jazz Ensemble (the version in studio was Mike DeBevec, keyboard; Eric Hahn, sax; Karina Roth, vocals; Barb LaVigne, flute; Mike Roth, bass) stopped by Studio A recently to preview their upcoming concert. It's called "All Our Own Jazz," Oct. 22, 7 p.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and will feature local musicians playing original compositions.
