Plucked Up String Band in the house for member drive

Local faves the Plucked Up String Band (Will Moore, bass; Matt Nesheim, banjo; Elliot Noyce, mandolin; Amanda Hand, guitar; Bill Hansen, dobro) joined the Roadhouse crew during membership drive to up the energy and get people pledging. Brothers in Arms makes Roadhouse debut

Local band Brothers in Arms made their Roadhouse debut, and rocked the house! The band is: Joe Peterson, drums; Drew Heinonen, guitar; Jim Miller, guitar; and Jonathan Steckelberg, bass.

The Thunderheads return to rock Studio A

Regular musical guests The Thunderheads made a return appearance recently on their way to a gig in Grand Marais. Listen for great original tunes as well as covers. The Thunderheads are: Steve Blexrud, guitar; Craig Paquette, guitar; Don Blue, bass; and Bill Boyce, percussion. Learn more about the band and their schedule here.

Black River Revue returns to The Roadhouse with original bluegrass

"Freshwater bluegrass" band Black River Revue, from Duluth and Superior, made a delightful return appearance on The Roadhouse. Listen for great original tunes and news of their upcoming CD release and tour this fall. Black River Revue is Adam Stariha, guitar/vocals/harmonica; Ian Kvale, bass/vocals; Tim Leutgeb, banjo/guitar/vocals; and Nate Hynum, mandolin/vocals.  You can learn more about the band's music and schedule here.

Singer/songwriter Courtney Yasmineh makes Roadhouse debut

Rock 'n' roll singer-songwriter Courtney Yasmineh visited The Roadhouse for the first time recently, while in town to perform at the Stars of the North Music Festival. She and her producer Rob Genadek made amazing music, and Courtney shared stories about her life and career. You can learn more about Courtney and her music here. Her first work of literary fiction, "A Girl Called Sidney," is just out from Gibson House Press.

Crazy Chester brings Southern-influenced rock to The Roadhouse

St. Paul-based band Crazy Chester honors the music of classic, blues-filled roots rock. They made their Roadhouse debut when they were in town recently to play at the Tavern. Crazy Chester is: Steve Abenth, percussion & vocals; Martin Marty, guitar & vocals; Drew Peterson, bass guitar & vocals; Bill Singsaas, guitar; and Dan Raschick, percussion & drums. The Wrong Omar rocks the tent during "Summer of Love" membership drive

Fun Twin Cities band The Wrong Omar showed up again this year to play during membership drive, outside under the big tent. St. Paul-based roots rocker Mary Cutrufello has been in the business for 25 years, on a musical journey from Connecticut to Texas to the Midwest.
