Celtic duo Frozen Britches celebrates St. Pat's Day in Studio A

Local duo Frozen Britches (Erik Hahn, flute and whistle; Tom van Cleve, fiddle) stopped by the Roadhouse to observe St. Patrick's Day and make delightful Celtic music for the Grassroots Radio membership drive.

The Plucked Up String Band returns to The Roadhouse

Local favorites the Plucked Up String Band made a return appearance on The Roadhouse recently, this time playing all covers. The band is: Amanda Hand, guitar & vocals; Elliot Noyce, mandolin & vocals; Will Moore, upright bass & vocals, Matt Nesheim, banjo & vocals; and Bill Hansen, dobro. (Drummer Kieran Scannell was away).

Thea Ennen & Dave JaVue return to The Roadhouse

River Falls, Wisc.-based singer/songwriters Thea Ennen and Dave JaVue visited The Roadhouse after a long absence. We were delighted to have them back and hear their moving, original folk music.

Pushing Chain plays The Roadhouse

Pushing Chain, the award-winning duo of Boyd Blomberg (guitar & vocals) and Adam Moe (fiddle & vocals), plays Americana roots music. Folk musician Paul Imholte uses wide variety of string instruments to create his sound

St. Cloud-based musician Paul Imholte plays a wide variety of string instruments, including hammered dulcimer, banjo, fiddle, and many more. He joined Dave TerSteeg and Ann Possis in Studio A to play original music and discuss his tour through the Arrowhead bringing music to libraries and schools. Lutsen guitarist Jon Kallberg made a long-awaited return visit to The Roadhouse with two beautiful guitars. Listen for stories about these unique instruments, and both original and cover tunes. You can hear Jon in person at Lutsen Resort in February.
