North Shore Health is warning the public of a scam being perpetrated in the name of the hospital.

Current trail conditions during Christmas break in Cook County

There are a good number of local residents and visitors to the North Shore who are planning to ski, snowmobile or ride fat-tire bikes on the local trails over the Christmas holiday and break.

Hovland arson investigation continues

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office, along with the State Fire Marshal continue the investigation into a residential arson which occurred in the early morning hours of Nov.

David Mills resigning from Grand Marais City Council

The Grand Marais City Council is losing one of its members because of a move outside of city limits. David Mills has served on the city council since January 2015.

No action on community health funding

Congress still has not reauthorized funding for the upcoming year for the Community Health Center Program following the recent “funding cliff.”

Bear killed after attacking three people near Isabella

There were two separate attacks involving the same bear on the morning of Dec. 19 at McDougal Lake in Lake County. The lake is located off Highway 1 near Isabella.

Trial canceled in Beck case following settlement
