North Shore Health is warning the public of a scam being perpetrated in the name of the hospital. An individual is making calls from a local telephone number posing as a North Shore Health business office employee.

The caller is offering reduction of medical debt if a portion of the debt is paid over the phone.

Hospital Finance Officer Vera Schumann wants to make it clear that the policy at North Shore Health is to receive financial information from patients who either call the business office or arrive in person to make a payment.  North Shore Health will not call patients to request financial payments.

North Shore Health Administrator Kimber Wraastad echoes that statement and says: “Please do not provide financial information if you're called.”

If you have questions about your North Shore Health bill or any other matter, contact the hospital at (218) 387-3040.
