Library set to move back in late Nov.
-Work on the new Grand Marais Public Library expansion has gotten to the point where Librarian Linda Chappell can set a move-in target date.

Associated Press (AP)-The forest fire burning since August in northeastern Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness is now 90 percent contained, according to fire authorities yesterday.
Mayor: City supports grooming bike path for snowmobiles
-The Grand Marais City Council has again approved grooming the bike trail for winter snowmobile use. That was one issue discussed at the recent city council meeting.

Open burning restrictions lifted in state
Associated Press (AP)-The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is lifting restrictions on open burning statewide, thanks to the cooler, wet weather.
