David Huckfelt and Frankie Lee with Michael Rossetto on WTIP
Will Moore-During their summer "Great Northern Tour", Twin Cities musicians David Huckfelt of The Pines, Frankie Lee, and Michael Rossetto headed to Grand Marais for a show at the Wunderbar. They also stopped by WTIP for a live in-studio performance. You'll hear a new song from David's upcoming album "Stranger Angels" written during an artist residency on Isle Royale, the story of how Frankie Lee met Merle Haggard on his first day in Nashville, all about the acquisition of Greg Brown's RV, and a special song for Rainbow Trout.
Jacob Mahon interview on Scenic Route
Will Moore-19-year-old Duluth musician Jacob Mahon says his biggest influences are Tom Waits and the Muppets. That becomes immediately apparent with his expressive, growling vocal performance of often goofy yet creative, rambling lyrics. With a debut album out called "Llamaless", he joins Will Moore by phone for an interview ahead of a performance at Skyport Lodge.
Tim Styles comes home, plays live on WTIP
Will Moore-Tim Styles is an Americana musician and songwriter currently living in Bakersfield, CA, but was born and raised in Grand Marais. He stopped by WTIP during a rare trip back to his hometown. He speaks with Will Moore about his inspirations for songwriting, his latest rock-and-roll tinged EP " Pilgrim Road", and making the move from Minnesota to Nashville and beyond.
True Grass Trio plays live on Scenic Route
Will Moore-True Grass is a talented and experienced bluegrass group hailing from all over Northern Wisconsin. Before a show at the Wunderbar in Grand Marais, they stop by WTIP for a live in-studio session with their old friend Carl Solander - taking over this week's edition of Scenic Route.

Cooper & Muska make radio debut on WTIP
Will Moore-Nick Muska and Lauren Cooper are an Americana duo from Superior, Wisconsin. Despite having only been playing together for less than a year, they have already developed terrific chemistry while songwriting and performing. They make their radio debut on WTIP during a segment with Will Moore and Carl Solander.
The Sea The Sea returns to the North Shore and Sidetracks
Will Moore-The Sea The Sea returned to Papa Charlie's Monday Night Songwriter Series as a halfway point on their current tour in support for their latest album Into the Light. The four-piece group from upstate New York dropped by WTIP during Sidetracks with Will Moore to play a couple of new tracks from the record in a stripped-down acoustic setting.

Will Moore-Katy Vernon is a singer/songwriter from White Bear Lake, originally from London. She says she plays "sad songs on a happy instrument" and often uses upbeat, lively music to express heavy themes in her songs. With a new album freshly recorded, she speaks with Will Moore on Scenic Route ahead of her performance at the Stars of the North festival in Grand Marais.
The Gentleman's Anti-Temperance League on WTIP
Will Moore-The Gentleman's Anti-Temperance League is a five-piece band out of the Twin Cities that brings the swing and gypsy jazz sound of the PRohibition era back to life. On the heels of their 2017 album Masquerade , the group is already getting ready for their sophomore release his fall. They join Will Moore for a special Scenic Route Saturday in-studio performance ahead of a show at the Wunderbar in Grand Marais.

The Ladies Music Club returns (again!) on Scenic Route
Will Moore-The Ladies Music Club, a quintet of St. Paul women, once again make their annual venture up north in the hopes to see a moose in the flesh on the Gunflint Trail. They brought with them stellar harmonies and intriguing covers as well as new original songs. Listen in for their special Thursday music session with Will Moore, in what has become an annual (and incredibly fun) WTIP tradition.
