Briand Morrison makes music to accompany father George Morrison's art
-Dave TerSteeg & Ann Possis welcomed local jazz guitarist and composer Briand Morrison to Studio A March 13. He's working on a new project called "Briand Morrison Presents Musical Impressions, The Art of George Morrison," in which he composes and performs music to accompany a series of slides of his father's work. -Local musicians Eric Frost & Bill Hansen visited Studio A Feb. 6 to play both covers and originals (Eric on guitar, Bill on dobro) and chat with Buck and Dick. Conversation ran the gamut from the recent TV taping at Papa Charlie's to falling through lake ice.
George Morrison retrospective exhibit opens Valentine's Day at MN History Center
-George Morrison was an Ojibwe artist from the North Shore who became a major figure in the modern art movement. Kristin Makholm is executive director of the MN Museum of Modern Art, which organized the exhibit opening Feb. 14.
