Sheriff: Busy Month, Busy Fourth of July

Calls to the Cook County Sheriff's office are running ahead of the average. Sheriff Mark Falk says it was a busy Fourth of July and the past month was also active.


 

Grand Marais Rec Park fills as state parks stay shuttered

The Grand Marais Recreation Park is usually a busy place in summer.-- this month even more than ever. The reason is the government shutdown that has closed all of Minnesota’s state parks.


 

Work begins on CSAH 8

The Cook County Highway Department announced this morning that reconstruction on the section of County State Aid Hwy 8 from one half-mile south of CSAH 18 to the Airport Road began today.

WTIP's community garden is in the midst of its third growing season, with a total of eight community members tending plots this year.  The season was officially kicked off in mid-June as rain bar
