Small fires burning above Basswood Lake in the Quetico
-Two small fires are burning to the west of us in the Quetico Provincial Park. WTIP’s Jay Andersen spoke with Fort Francis Fire Operations Supervisor Mike Pistilli (PIS-tilly).
Fires restrictions begin in BWCAW
-Fire restrictions will go into effect for the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in the Tofte and Gunflint districts only starting Friday August 30th at 12:01 a.m.

USFS closes campsites due to bear activity
-The U.S. Forest service has today closed all campsites on two lakes in the BWCAW until further notice. The campsites affected are on Caribou and Little Caribou lakes.
