Forest Service considers next steps as bear encounters spike in BWCA

Recent encounters between black bears and visitors to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness has the U.S. Forest Service considering a food storage order on certain lakes.

A wide-ranging conversation on the challenges of affordable workforce housing took place during a committee of the whole meeting of the Cook County Board of Commissioners July 20.
