Dan Blessing on his trip from Lake Superior to the Pacific in a birch bark canoe
-Dan Blessing and his canoe partner Mark Vangrinsven paddled nearly 4,000 miles from Lake Superior to the Pacific Ocean in a birch bark canoe they built themselves. Buck spoke with Dan June 20 at the Wooden Boat Show down on harborside North House campus about how they did it, what they carried and ate, and lots more, including the special recipe for birch bark canoe sealant made with bear fat.
