Rendezvous Days re-enactors, fiddler stop by Studio A
-Rendezvous Days was Aug. 7 to 9 at Grand Portage National Monument. Two of the historical re-enactors, Ray and Kelly James, joined Dick Aug. 7 to explain how the encampment and re-enactment work. And fiddler Carrie Dlutkowski played some amazing tunes of the period.
"Kharma Bums" follows 130-mile stand-up paddleboard journey down the Ganges River
-On Aug. 28, North House Folk School will host a screening of the adventure travel documentary "Kharma Bums" with filmmaker Ryan Salm. Ryan, Jeremiah Kent, and Martin Cavada joined Ann Possis Aug. 7 to talk about what it was like to travel and work in a place where 100 million people gathered. You can learn more here.

Vladimir Yarish, master birch bark basket maker, visits The Roadhouse
-Vladimir Yarish, an award-winning basket maker from Russia, has worked with birch bark for more than 24 years. He teaches all over the U.S., including at North House Folk School here in Grand Marais. He joined Dick in studio July 24 to talk about his craft and tell a few stories about Russia, traveling, and teaching.
