Young girl seriously injured at Lutsen Mountains

A snowboarder and young skier collided at Lutsen Mountains ski area at about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, resulting in serious injuries for the skier.

The snowboarder accidentally hit a nine-year-old girl from Edina, Minnesota. She was transported down the hill by Lutsen Ski Patrol and Lutsen First Responders and then by ambulance to North Shore Health. She was flown by medical helicopter for further treatment for brain trauma.
