WTIP follows up on 'racism in Cook County' community conversation
In October 2017, WTIP hosted a community conversation program about racism in Cook County. One of the people who joined the discussion that night was Dave Nonnemacher, the father of two adopted girls who are from Liberia, West Africa. Dave, his wife Jody, and the two girls moved to Duluth in 2017 after the girls experienced racist bullying in Cook County.
WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs checked in with Nonnemacher for an update on how things are going for the family after moving to Duluth, and in the wake of the recent news about the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and a national discussion about racism in America.
