Progress is being made toward the construction of the first phase of workforce housing in Grand Marais by One Roof Housing.  

Cook County/Grand Marais Economic Development Authority (EDA) Director Mary Somnis reports that land clearing began on the land on Second Street, west of Homestead Housing on Tuesday. Edwin E. Thoreson Construction is doing the land clearing and excavation work.

The EDA worked with One Roof Housing to get this project, named the Nordic Star Development, going.
