The Office of Inspector General of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is beginning an audit regarding the federal agency’s review of a permit for the PolyMet copper-nickel mine in northeastern Minnesota.

The permit under review was issued in late 2018 by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.

WaterLegacy’s Advisory Director and Attorney, Paula Maccabee, spoke with WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs about the EPA audit and status of the PolyMet project in Minnesota.
