Vikings win Polar League Tournament

On Saturday, October 13, a Vikings volleyball team of 7th and 8th grade players traveled to Moose Lake to participate in the Polar League Tournament, taking on 11 other teams from around the region.  

The pool stage of the tournament saw the Vikings in Pool D, along with Barnum and McGregor.  The Vikings were victorious over Barnum in three sets, 21-25, 25-17 and 16-14.  Later in the morning, the Vikings were also able to take down McGregor in two sets, 25-11 and 25-12.

To start the bracket stage, the Vikings were matched up against Wrenshall, who had won their group, Pool C.  The Vikings defeated Wrenshall in two sets, 25-23 and 25-11.  This win set up a gold champion match against Moose Lake-Willow River.  The Vikings were again up to the task, defeating Moose Lake-Willow River in two sets, 25-22 and 25-14 to win the gold in the Polar League Tournament.
