Vikings preparing for Summer League postseason run

The senior legion Vikings 18U baseball team was busy this past weekend playing in the sub-district tournament.  On Friday, July 20, the Vikings were shut out by Proctor, 8-0. Andrew Miller struck out seven batters in four innings for the Vikings in the loss. On Saturday, July 21, the Vikings got a win after Mora forfeited their scheduled match, setting up a rematch against Proctor later that day.  Proctor came out on top again, winning 8-3.  Tristen Bockovich pitched six innings for the Vikings in the loss, and Colton Furlong led both teams with three hits.

The Vikings will take on International Falls Monday, July 23 at 7 p.m. in Ely.  The winner of that match will move onto the district tournament, which begins on Wednesday, July 25.
