It appears North House Folk School is one step closer to obtaining Dockside Fish Market in Grand Marais.

At approximately 12:15 p.m. on Jan. 24, WTIP was contacted by North House Director Greg Wright and EDA Director Mary Somnis.
The two had just left a meeting of the IRRRB in Eveleth. Somnis and Wright were informed at that meeting that a grant request for $200,000 from IRRBB will indeed be moving forward and the funding will be provided. The $200,000 grant will be a key factor in North House’s acquisition of Dockside.

Earlier this winter, Wright made public that applying for the grant is the first of many steps in the potential sale of Dockside to North House.

WTIP’s Jay Andersen spoke with Wright and Somnis on the Daybreak program.
