An emergency call went out to Lutsen First Responders and Cook County Ambulance at 8:22 this morning. A party had been burned by a propane explosion and was being driven to the Lutsen Fire Hall.

The injured man was Matthew Bratager, 66, of Cumberland, Wisc., and Tofte. He told Cook County Law Enforcement that he was ready to cook some eggs in his camper. When he turned on the stove an explosion occurred. He drove himself to a nearby home where he received help to get to the Lutsen Fire Hall. Cook County Ambulance and Lutsen First Responders met the parties there.

Bratager was transported to North Shore Health. No further information is available on his condition at this time.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office says no foul play is suspected.
