Our “Summer of Love” membership drive wrapped up Tuesday, July 11, at noon, and we’d like to thank everyone that helped make it the most successful in WTIP’s history. We heard from 65 new members and 297 renewing members, raising a total of $35,771 – wow!

We’re super grateful to everyone who came together to make it happen: volunteers (on-air, phone answerers, food providers), musicians, listener-members, and of course Jeff Nemitz, our engineer, who helped make the live music and the live remote at the Grand Marais Arts Festival possible.

Also, in addition to the businesses that provided prizes for our end-of-drive drawing, we’d like to thank Wild Country Maple Syrup, The Angry Trout Café and Skyport Lodge & Raven Rock Grill for donating special gifts to share during the drive.

Finally, we’d like to thank North Shore Winery and Voyageur Brewing Company for sharing wine, cider and beer during live music Saturday afternoon.

WTIP is truly a labor of love. We will continue our work to bring the community together and provide the programming you rely on and enjoy. Right on!

Be sure to check out the slideshow of photos from the drive, and take a listen to a fun sound-montage that WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs put together, featuring highlights and shenanigans from the drive!

And following are the lucky winners in our "end-of-drive" drawing:
