A spring blizzard on the North Shore has caused treacherous road conditions for Cook County and the surrounding region.

WTIP has received reports of difficult travel on Highway 61, the Gunflint Trail and other county roads.

A semi slid partially off the road near the Caribou River on Highway 61 temporarily blocking traffic in the southbound lane.

The Cook County Highway Department has received multiple calls requesting that local roads be plowed. They are responding when appropriate as soft road conditions in late April can delay such efforts.
