Split Rock Lighthouse commemorates sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald

November 10 marked the 43rd anniversary of the sinking of the freighter Edmund Fitzgerald and the loss of her 29 crew members. Every year on that day, Split Rock Lighthouse has held a special memorial beacon lighting and a reading of the crew members names to the tolling of a ships bell.
