A nice hike on the Superior Hiking Trail in the Colvill area on Sunday, October 14 was  interrupted  by the sound of a smashed window and car alarm.  The Cook County Sheriff's Office received a report at 2:46 p.m. of the break-in.

The vehicle owner and passenger were walking on the beach when the car alarm was activated. They returned to find a small rear window of the vehicle had been smashed to access personal items, including a wallet and purse, which were locked inside the vehicle.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. No arrests have been made yet.

Anyone with any information on the incident is encouraged to contact the Cook County Sheriff’s Office at 218-387-3030.
