As darkness fell on Thursday, December 28, Mickey Brazell of Grand Marais called 9-1-1  to report that his wife, Dee Brazell, was lost in the woods somewhere in the Bally Creek area of Grand Marais. She had set out on a snowshoe hike at about 2 p.m.

Cook County Search and Rescue was paged and a few tense hours passed as responders tried to find the missing woman. She and the two dogs with her were found safe at around 7 p.m.

Rhonda Silence talks with Dee about the incident, which is a timely reminder for all northlanders to be prepared for anything when heading out into the woods.
