Schroeder man injured in ATV accident
A Schroeder man was seriously injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident on Sunday, June 3.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office has released details of the single vehicle crash. Jerald Lawrence, 37, was found lying in the middle of the Cramer Road in Schroeder just after 11 p.m. on Sunday night.
A 1997 Honda ATV was nearby in the ditch.
No other parties were on the ATV so the accident was unwitnessed. Lawrence was not wearing a helmet.
The Schroeder Fire Department, Tofte First Responders, Cook County Ambulance and Sheriff deputies responded and called for transport by medical helicopter.
Firefighters from Tofte and Schroeder established a landing zone at the Taconite Harbor safe harbor where Lifeflight 6 landed at 12:07 a.m. to take the patient to Essentia/St. Mary’s in Duluth.
According to an Essentia spokesperson, Lawrence is still hospitalized. His condition is listed as “good.”
