Schools out, but sports continue

Schools are out on summer break, but for some Cook County athletes, the spring sports seasons are still ongoing.

The Vikings baseball team continues on in the Section 7A tournament on Tuesday.  Cook County is set to take on the Ely Timberwolves at 2 pm at Wade Stadium in Duluth.  The winner of that game will play again on Tuesday night at roughly 7 pm.

The section Track and Field meet was held at UMD in Duluth on May 30.  At that meet, Jack Haussner qualified for state in three different events, the 110-meter hurdles, the 200-meter dash, and the long jump.  The state meet is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Hamline University in St. Paul.
