Rena Rogers appointed interim Cook County administrator
Cook County Administrator Jeff Cadwell’s last day is Monday, Oct. 14. Cadwell is leaving to become the new administrator in Mahnomen County.
His last official meeting with the county board was this week on Tuesday and there was a special meeting at the courthouse yesterday to discuss the future of the administrator position in Cook County. The meeting included all of the commissioners, a number of department heads at the county level and various county staff.
At the heart of the discussion was the county’s plans regarding the soon-to-be vacant administrator position and if that role has a future in the county. After lengthy discussion, the board voted 3-2 to appoint Rena Rogers as the interim administrator for Cook County. Rogers is currently Cook County’s management information systems director. She becomes the interim county administrator effective Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Reporter Rhonda Silence was at the meeting and spoke with Joe Friedrichs on the Oct. 11 Daybreak program on WTIP about Thursday’s meeting of the county board.
