It’s been more than a month since our last community conversation on WTIP talking about how the new coronavirus is impacting day-to-day life in Cook County and the North Shore region.

As more parts of our community open back up and people begin to move around more frequently than we did during the Stay at Home order, new questions and challenges are popping up as we figure out how to navigate safety and risk in the context of COVID-19.

With that in mind, WTIP wants to open this discussion again on the community-wide level during a special program live on the air.

Host Joe Friedrichs does just that in a live community conversation that aired June 10 at 7 p.m. on WTIP.

Joining Friedrichs were two employees from the Cook County Emergency Operations Center and Public Health Department, Grace Grinager and Matthew Baxley. Also with us on the program was Dr. Kurt Farchmin, Sawtooth Mountain Clinic’s COVID-19 medical director.

The program aired just hours after the first case of the new coronavirus was confirmed in Cook County.
