Prom Dress Swap brightens event for many
Coming up at School District 166 on Saturday, May 4 is the Cook County High School Prom. Leading up to Prom, some community members are hoping to find a way to make this spring event enjoyable for all. Knowing that finding that perfect dress can be stressful and expensive, these caring folks have arranged a “Prom Dress Swap” event at the school.
There is a “Prom Dress Swap” coming up on Wednesday, May 1 from 3:30 to 4:30 at School District 166, Room 111. Students are invited to bring a gently-used dress to exchange for an elegant dress new to them.If someone does not have a dress to "swap," dresses will be available for a $20 fee. There are also options for students who just can't afford this prom expense.
Some jewelry and shoes are also available.
Anyone with questions about the Prom Dress Swap may contact Melissa Oberg or Anna Sandstrom at School District 166 at 218-387-1848.
WTIP's Rhonda Silence spoke with Melissa Oberg about this community effort.
