Podcast explores troubling issues facing Thunder Bay
In January 2019, WTIP will air parts of "Thunder Bay," a five-episode podcast that focuses on issues facing the city that is about 75 miles from Grand Marais. The podcast is produced by the Canadian news organization known as CANADALAND.
On their website, the podcast producers describe Thunder Bay as having:
“The highest homicide and hate crime rates in the country. A mayor charged with extortion. A police chief who faced trial for obstruction of justice. Nine tragic deaths of Indigenous high schoolers. Why does it all happen here?”
Host Ryan McMahon narrates the podcast, which the show’s producers agreed to share with WTIP in 2019.
And to hear segments of the Thunder Bay podcast, tune in to both Daybreak (7-8 a.m. Monday through Friday) and the North Shore News Hour (12-1 Monday through Friday & 5-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday) on the WTIP airwaves.
