After announcing early Tuesday a massive phone outage on the Gunflint Trail was resolved, the issue resurfaced only hours later.

CenturyLink has advised there may still be intermittent landline phone issues in the Gunflint Trail area 388 exchange. A two-day outage was thought to be fully resolved this morning, as was shared with local media. However, the utility now advises there is a chance that some customers may not yet have fully-restored or intermittent service. CenturyLink has opened another service ticket to investigate and address the problem. It is unknown how long it could take.

WTIP first reported of the phone outage Sunday morning, Sept. 16. The outage lasted for days until Tuesday morning when the company gave the “all-clear” for local authorities to advise that the outage event was over.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
