Parking lot in Grand Marais floods again during heavy rain

Nearly 2 inches of rain fell on parts of Cook County in less than 24 hours between Oct. 2 and Tuesday morning, Oct. 3.

A parking lot prone to flooding in downtown Grand Marais became tough to navigate during the rain event. And many of the region’s streams and rivers were roaring with high volumes of rust-colored water.  

As of Tuesday afternoon, businesses impacted by the flooded parking lot in Grand Marais remained open. Below is a story WTIP reported on in 2015 regarding the flooded parking lot in downtown Grand Marais.
