PACER Center helps parents navigate special education services
Parents of children receiving special education services can sometimes be overwhelmed by the process. They don't always know how to be an advocate for their child. An individualized education plan (IEP) meeting with school staff can be intimidating if parents aren't sure how the process works.
There is a nonprofit organization that can help, the PACER Center. The PACER Center is hosting a workshop in Duluth this month for parents and professionals who want to learn more about the IEP process.
The workshop How Parents Can Effectively Communicate with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team on Tuesday, October 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hampton Inn, 310 Canal Park Drive, Duluth.
To register or for more information, contact PACER Center at (800) 838-9000 or visit the PACER website at PACER.org/workshops.
