Carol Christenson spent more than three decades working as a meteorologist for the National Weather Service (NWS) in Duluth. She’s spent most of that time in the role of a warning coordination meteorologist, keeping an eye on all things weather-related from Lake Superior to the Boundary Waters and everywhere in between down to the Twin Ports.

Christenson’s voice is familiar to many WTIP listeners, as she often shares updates on the local airwaves about current conditions for the North Shore region.

However, a new chapter is set to begin for the NWS office in Duluth and for Christenson, as her last day in the office is also the last day in April. Christenson is retiring April 30.

On her last day at the post, WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs spoke with Christenson about her career and time working as a meteorologist in Duluth.
