There was a collision at the temporary stoplight at the intersection of 5th Street/County Road 7 and 5th Avenue West in Grand Marais on Friday evening, August 6. The initial call came in reporting that a vehicle had been “t-boned” and an ambulance was requested.

A 17-year-old female from West Des Moines, Iowa, driving a 2011 Chevy Suburban heading north, went through the intersection hitting a 2016 Nissan Sentra, driven by Peggy Twining-Prentice of Duluth.

The ambulance was canceled as there were no injuries and there was minimal damage to the vehicles.

The 17-year-old driver received a citation for failure to yield.
