News of local college students

Gustavus Adolphus College, a private liberal arts college in Saint Peter, Minn, held its commencement exercises on May 28.
Among the 518 students to graduate with bachelor of arts degrees from Gustavus Adolphus was Collin Berglund of Grand Marais, who received his degree in geology.
Collin is a 2013 graduate of Cook County High School.

Sophie Holz of Grand Marais, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor degree in sustainable community development from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin.
Sophie is the daughter of Dominique and Steven Holz, formerly of Grand Marais. She graduated from Perpich Arts High School in 2012.

More than 1,203 students graduated from St. Cloud State University during spring semester 2017. Commencement ceremonies took place Friday, May 5, 2017.
Among the graduates was Carly Jean Puch of Grand Marais. Carly earned a master of science in social responsibility.
Carly received her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and women’s studies from Augsburg College in May 2014. She is a 2010 graduate of Cook County High School.
She is the daughter of Jean Mathis Spry of Grand Marais and Scott Puch of Naples, Florida.
