Living in a small community, there is a lot of informality in the borrowing and returning of items. "Just leave it on the porch," is a common refrain. And sometimes our vehicles serve as the drop-off spots.

That casual North Shore method of exchange led to an interesting experience for Karen Neal of Grand Marais on Saturday, March 6.

After an afternoon walk with her dogs, she returned to her parked vehicle to find some mystery items inside. Apparently, someone thought they were returning a carpet cleaner and a "thank you" bottle of wine to someone else with a white Subaru.

Unable to find the owner of the items, Neal turned to social media, which led to an entertaining community conversation, and ultimately led to the location of the owner.

WTIP's Rhonda Silence checked in with Neal to hear more about the fun that ensued following her find.
