Mark Abrahamson is a voice familiar to many who regularly listen to WTIP. Mark has been a longtime volunteer host on a variety of programs, including the North Shore Morning program on Monday and Wednesday.

Mark’s career has been tied to health care in a variety of forms, including 30 years working for North Shore Health in Grand Marais as a nurse. Prior to that role, Mark worked for the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa providing health-care services.

Mark retired from health care in July 2019. He talked with WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs about his career in health care and what his plans are after retirement.
