LSProject: Study focuses on potential impacts of climate change along North Shore

As possible impacts of climate change reach the North Shore, Minnesota Sea Grant opted to fund a study officially titled Building Climate Readiness on Minnesota’s North Shore.

For the purposes of the study, the North Shore region was defined as the area immediately adjacent to Lake Superior’s shoreline from Two Harbors to Grand Portage. The North Shore community climate readiness project is a multi-methods research and outreach project focused on exploring how certain projected climate conditions will affect the behaviors of recreationists and tourists, and potentially impact local economies.

And while Minnesota Sea Grant funded the project, others were intricately involved as well. To date, the project team consists of members from The University of Minnesota, North Carolina State University and Carleton College.
