LSProject: The Story of Taconite Harbor

Taconite Harbor was a booming and lively community on the Western edge of Cook County. It was built in the 1950s to house employees of the Erie Mining taconite shipping facility, but it has been nearly 30 years since the last residents were asked to leave and the town site dismantled. WTIP’s Will Moore looks back on the history of this community and the stories of some of the people who lived there in this edition of the Lake Superior project.
